Day 74 - Thursday 28th May 2020

Location: London, UK

COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak

Lockdown

Today I saw two planes in the sky, leaving fluffy trails behind them.  Now maybe I've not been looking closely enough, but I can't remember the last time I saw a plane flying overhead.  I'm pretty sure that the birds have been louder too - or maybe I can just hear them better.

When not looking at the sky, I spent most of Thursday on Zoom.  I was on there pretty much all day for my day job followed by two back to back calls in the evening with a weekly writing group and then friends.

And it's exhausting.

I actually enjoyed all parts of the day but "being on" and constantly seeing your own reflection is just a bit too much sometimes.

I look forward to bed not just because of fatigue but as it's where I can look at a book instead - I've even taken to preferring to read my current "not on Google Play books" book because otherwise it's just another screen.

And I'm tired of screens.

But not the TV.  Never tired of the TV.  TV can do no wrong.

Day 150 - Wednesday 12th August 20200

Location: London, UK  COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak Certain people have always been a bit disgusting in the way in which they treat their surrounding. The number of surgical masks I see lying on the street every day is quite revolting.  Not only is it an act of pure sloth to just throw it on the floor without a care in the world for your environment, but surely in times when we are being asked repeatedly to wash our hands and use hand sanitiser it's an almost an act of aggression to disgard something potentially infectious in such a disdainful way? A plea therefore - please throw your salived filled masks in the bin, not on the floor.  Astonishing to have to ask really!

Day 90 - Saturday 13th June 2020

Location: London, UK COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak Lockdown On this date last year I was at Wembley Stadium seeing The Spice Girls. And it was genuinely one of the best nights of my life.  I didn't get to see them when I was younger as a five-some but seeing Baby, Scary, Ginger and Sporty live on stage was fantastic. It's hard to explain why exactly but essentially The Spice Girls were an integral soundtrack to my formative teenage years. I love a good bit of pop music and the queens of GIRL POWER had hit after hit after hit.  And the thing is, they are great songs! I promise you - request Wannabe at a wedding or somewhere where they play live music (I requested it at Piano Works Bar to actual cheers I tell you) and it will go down a storm. # V i v a F o r e v e r

Day 121 - Tuesday 14th July 2020

Location: London, UK COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak Lockdown Love & Information - Part 2 Performance Day! At 6:30pm the countdown timer started - we'd be going live to the world in 30 minutes!  And yes it really was the world, we had viewers all over the country and abroad. After a minor technical difficulty which was dealt with by producer and tech guru James with utter calm and professionalism, we were live, looking into our cameras and performing our socks off. I was in 11 scenes which meant 11 costume/hair/earring changes for me.  And although I changed my top half 11 times, my bottom half remained in my trackies and slippers which was quite a joy. In between scenes, I could use my own bathroom for make-up and hair alterations and bedroom for wardrobe.  I'd pop down to the kitchen to get my "champagne" for Wedding Video or to feed the cat. So there are definitely some advantages to performing from home. I've performed in lots of places - outdoors on grass...
